Exam Day
My son enjoys attending Education Nation.
The small group ratio of 4:1 enables him to actively engage with the tutor, fostering a supportive and focused learning environment. Homework is consistently and thoroughly reviewed, with detailed feedback provided to support his ongoing improvement.
Since enrolling earlier this year, he has gained significant confidence in English, as reflected in his NAPLAN result, which was marked as "Exceeding".

Interpreting Results

From 2023, NAPLAN no longer uses numbered bands to report student performance.

Instead, results are based on proficiency levels that clearly show whether a student is meeting expected standards in literacy and numeracy for their year level.

The NAPLAN Individual Student Report (ISR) provides scores in four areas:

Reading, Writing, Language Conventions (Spelling, Grammar and Punctuation), and Numeracy.

Each area is shown on a horizontal scale ranging from 0 to 1000.

On each scale, your child’s score is marked with a black dot (●).

The shaded box represents the expected proficiency standard for their year level, and a triangle (▲) shows the national average.

If your child’s dot is within or above the shaded box, they are meeting or exceeding the standard.

If the dot is below the shaded box, they are not yet meeting the expected level and may benefit from additional support.

Alongside the scale, each result is labelled with one of four proficiency levels: Exceeding, Strong, Developing, or Needs Additional Support. These labels give a clearer sense of your child’s current progress.

This new format is designed to be easier for parents and educators to understand.

It provides a straightforward summary of where students are doing well and where they may need more help.

"Progress happens one step at a time — but with the right support, those steps become leaps."

Sathush has shown great improvement in structuring his responses, particularly in persuasive writing. He has effectively applied the TOP, PEEL, and COPS formula we introduced at Education Nation to help students organise their essays with clarity and purpose. Our writing program focused extensively on both persuasive and narrative writing, and Sathush also learnt to use the narrative mountain structure to craft engaging stories. I’m very pleased to see his hard work pay off, especially with his outstanding result, scoring the highest mark in the writing section of NAPLAN.

Paviish S

Year 3

Paviish has applied himself consistently to the weekly spelling, grammar, and writing tasks at Education Nation, and it’s been wonderful to see that commitment reflected in his NAPLAN results. He achieved an ‘exceeding’ in not only spelling but across all English sections, which is a fantastic accomplishment. His writing demonstrates the benefit of regular practice and the detailed feedback he received, showing clear improvements in structure, expression, and clarity.
